Four subjects with moderate Parkinson’s disease completed inspiratory and expiratory muscle strength training in an ABAB within-subject withdrawal design study.  One subject received LSVT-type voice treatment prior to participation in phase two only. Effects on maximum respiratory pressures, vocal quality, and quality of life will be discussed.

Learner Outcomes:

  1. Participants will be able to describe the rationale for using RMST in select patients with Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
  2. Participants will be able to implement evidence-based treatment programs using RMST in patients with PD.
  3. Participants will be able to describe the nature of additional research needed in establishing the efficacy of RMST in individuals with PD.
